Seattle Search Group is partnering with a public accounting firm seeking a Senior Tax Manager to join its growing tax practice. The firm serves individuals, closely held businesses, partnerships, trusts, and estates, and provides high-level compliance, planning, and advisory services.
This role offers exposure to complex engagements, meaningful client relationships, and flexible work arrangements, including hybrid or remote options for qualified candidates.
Position SummaryThe Senior Tax Manager will oversee multiple client engagements and lead tax compliance, planning, and advisory services. This position is responsible for technical review, client management, staff development, and engagement profitability.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and a client-focused mindset.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage tax engagements for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, and estates
- Review complex federal, state, and local tax returns and filings
- Develop and implement effective tax planning strategies
- Serve as primary advisor for assigned client relationships
- Research technical tax matters and prepare supporting documentation
- Resolve complex tax issues and provide guidance to clients
- Supervise, mentor, and develop tax staff and managers
- Support firm growth through business development and client expansion
- Manage engagement staffing, scheduling, budgets, and billing
- Monitor regulatory and legislative changes impacting clients
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of services
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or related field (required)
- Masters in Taxation or related graduate degree preferred
- 7–10 years of progressive public accounting tax experience
- Proven experience managing complex engagements and client portfolios
- Demonstrated success leading and developing staff
- Active CPA required
- JD, LLM, or MST a plus
- Strong technical knowledge of federal and state taxation
- Experience with tax research and compliance software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership and organizational abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
- Ability to manage deadlines in high-volume environments
