A successful candidate will be a self-starter, have the ability to influence business decisions, and set strategic direction through data analysis and clear articulation of what really matters. The candidate will have freedom to think big and create new processes and mechanisms to drive both top and bottom line growth. Our team culture is goal-oriented, collaborative and driven to achieve results.

We seek an individual who is motivated by a fast-paced and highly entrepreneurial environment, and not fazed by ambiguity or competing priorities.

As a key member of the Amazon F2 finance team, you will develop strong business partnerships by frequently engaging with leadership teams, vendor managers, marketing, and business development leaders to share financial insights, set strategy, and influence business decisions.

Key job responsibilities
  • Owns Profit and Loss Statement across both 1P & 3P Business for their GL(s) (i.e. acts as the CFO of their business).
  • Managing weekly, monthly and quarterly financial reporting including operational metrics.
  • Communicating financial and business results to senior leaders; going beyond the “what happened”, and focusing on the “what can we do about it”.
  • Seeing around corners for the next big opportunity and helping to scale those insights to your GL Counterparts across F2 and NAS.
  • Gathering analytical insights and developing financial frameworks that inform and measure investment decisions and help set the long‑term strategy.
  • Performing deep dive analyses to develop recommendations that impact the decision making of senior leadership; this is across profitability, top‑line, and cost‑out initiatives.
  • Ensure a high level of financial controllership, maintaining data integrity.
  • Partners with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to take deep dive findings and right‑size insights for their business partners, ultimately driving financially accretive actions.
A day in the life

Reviewing FLASH reports on key business metrics is the start to everyday. Controllership is a MUST for this role and our days start with understanding key business metrics and trends. Successful GL Controllers will work directly with experienced Amazon leaders, providing financial controllership, and deep diving ad‑hoc questions to understand business drivers. Most importantly, GL controllers are driving business outcomes, identifying ways to inform central teams on how to improve NAS‑wide mechanisms, and identifying quantifiable FCF wins for the business.
