Amazon’s Finance as a Service (FAAS) team is a fast‑paced, team‑focused, dynamic environment where delivering great experiences for customers is a top priority. FAAS R2R is seeking a Staff Accountant to support our accounting team.
ResponsibilitiesThe responsibilities include month end closing activities, preparation of monthly/quarterly/annually reconciliations, balance sheet analysis, and supporting management in all aspects of financial accounting, reporting systems, procedures, and policies. The role will also play an important part in promoting systems and process development within the department to ensure ongoing efficiency and control improvements.
Required Qualifications- Certified Accountant with CA, ICWA, CIMA, CMA, or CPA certification.
- Experience in retail or marketplace or financial retail services is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including written and oral communication.
- Zeal toward operational excellence, process improvement, and simplification.
- Excellent knowledge of financial controls and procedures; US GAAP knowledge is a plus.
- Advanced Excel skills and knowledge of SQL are required.
- Experience with Oracle/SAP.
- Flexible, adaptable, and well organized.
- Knowledge of Six Sigma defect reduction techniques (Lean, etc) preferred.
- Proactive behavior and strong team skills.
- Self‑motivated and enthusiastic.
- Knowledge of standard software including Excel, Access, Oracle, Essbase, SQL, and VBA skills.
- Experience using data to influence business decisions.
- Experience in corporate finance including budgeting/planning, forecasting, and reporting.
- CA with 0‑4 years of post‑qualification experience in month end closing of books of accounts, working on various sub‑ledgers, accounting knowledge, balance sheet reconciliation and reporting activities.
- Experience with TM1, data warehouse, and SQL.
