The PositionWe are looking for a controller to join our team! This role is perfect for someone who can serve as a senior leader and subject matter expert on all accounting and financial management functions. The role provides oversight and strategic direction for financial reporting and auditing, compliance, treasury management, and all internal financial controls and processes.

Ideal Candidate Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is required
- Eight years of progressive accounting or financial management experience
- Including six years in a management or supervisory capacity
- Additional years of progressive accounting or financial management experience may be considered in lieu of the six years management or supervisory capacity
- Maintain proper segregation of duties and authorization controls
- Conduct periodic internal control reviews and risk assessments
- Develop and update financial policies and procedures
- Strengthen measures to prevent fraud, waste, and abuse
- Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and fund balances across programs
- Manage banking transactions, reconciliations, and cash management controls
- Analyze financial conditions and prepare reports on financial health and risk indicators
- Ensure compliance with restricted fund requirements and grant conditions
- Develop, document, and maintain accounting policy and procedure manuals
- Provide training and technical guidance to finance staff and program managers on financial compliance requirements, internal controls, and proper accounting practices
- Ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial systems and reporting tools
- Support system improvements and the implementation of accounting controls with SHA’s enterprise resource planning system
