Job Summary:
The Senior Relationship Manager (or Sr Banker) serves as the Trusted Advisor for clients and prospects who are primarily active commercial real estate owners, investors and developers. The Sr Relationship Manager provides comprehensive financial advice and solutions to help clients meet their financial objectives and utilize Key's product platform, including traditional bank products and capital markets executions. The role drives the financial performance of the team through profitable revenue growth, active portfolio management and strong risk management by selectively targeting and developing new business relationships while deepening existing client relationships.
- Serve as Trusted Advisor to clients by developing a clear and holistic understanding of the client or prospect's business, including management practices, portfolio dynamics, and business strategy, and craft value-added solutions and advice.
- Provide clients access to Key's product platform, including interim and permanent credit facilities, cash management, interest rate management, syndications, private equity, subordinated debt, deposits, leasing, private banking, equipment finance, and more.
- Educate clients on Key's capabilities, identify opportunities, and coordinate product partners.
- Structure and lead credit and non-credit product delivery while managing risk and optimizing risk-adjusted returns.
- Proactively manage the portfolio to maximize profitability and maintain asset quality, including timely identification and resolution of issues and loan risk rating assessments.
- Partner with Credit, Product Partners, Servicing, and other teams to identify cross-sell opportunities and deepen client relationships.
- Develop strategies for retaining, growing, acquiring and, when appropriate, exiting client relationships.
- Demonstrate functional, technical and credit expertise; provide coaching and mentoring to team members.
- Enable successful execution by embracing business development processes and identifying areas for continuous improvement.
- Participate in community and professional organizations to enhance expertise and profile.

- Comply with all Key Bank policies and procedures, including professional conduct, ethics, avoidance of conflicts of interest, and acting in the best interests of Key and its clients.
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance or related field (preferred)
- OR equivalent experience (required)
- Sr Relationship Manager: 7+ years of real estate finance related experience (preferred)
- Understanding of balancing business development and asset quality/risk management (preferred)
- Ability to work effectively on a team to deliver comprehensive solutions and achieve financial and risk management goals (preferred)
- Sr Banker: 10+ years of real estate lending experience, including through a real estate downcycle (required)

- Master of Business Administration (preferred)
- Experience as a credit underwriter, credit officer and/or workout manager (preferred)
- Experience in a product role (e.g., commercial mortgage, subordinated debt, or investment banking) (preferred)
- Applies sound judgment in evaluating complex scenarios, balancing risk and opportunity.
- Interprets data trends and performance metrics to inform strategies and recommendations.
- Promotes and adheres to risk management principles in hiring and operational practices.
- Ensures compliance with KYC standards during candidate evaluation and onboarding processes.
- Understands Key Bank's financial products, services, and strategic goals to align talent acquisition with business needs.
- Prioritizes client and candidate experience throughout the recruitment lifecycle.
- Cultivates strong partnerships with clients and internal/external stakeholders.
- Familiar with Key Bank's lending products and retail banking operations to recruit specialized talent.
- Understands mortgage offerings and regulatory considerations to support hiring in lending divisions.
- Maintains up-to-date understanding of Key Bank's service portfolio to identify talent that drives innovation and growth.

- General Office - Prolonged sitting, ability to communicate face to face in person or on the phone with teammates and clients, frequent use of PC/laptop, occasional lifting/pushing/pulling of backpacks, computer bags up to 10 lbs.
- Occasional travel to include overnight stay.
