About the Opportunity
The Lead, Real Estate Accountant will manage client relationships, financial requirements, and the month‑end close for WeWork’s commercial real‑estate clients.
Responsibilities- Understand and adhere to GAAP and client‑specific policies
- Complete transaction‑level analysis for client financial statement packages, including capitalization, amortization/depreciation, revenue, expense, and accruals
- Analyze financial statements, prepare journal entries, and produce monthly variance commentary and trend analysis
- Prepare balance‑sheet account reconciliations and supporting schedules, documenting monthly changes
- Execute monthly bank reconciliations and ensure all vendor, landlord, member, and tenant cash transactions are recorded accurately
- Coordinate weekly vendor payments and review cash transactions for timely member payments; work with community teams to resolve aged receivables
- Respond to client accounting inquiries by researching and interpreting data
- Collaborate with leadership and clients to establish performance goals and create annual budgets
- Prepare and review revenue share calculations for participating leases
- Interpret lease and management agreement language to ensure reporting compliance
- Organize and prioritize tasks, track due dates, and manage workload proactively
- Ensure revenue and expenses are captured appropriately in WeWork Management books
- Maintain relationships with Community teams to communicate location profitability
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 3+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably commercial real estate
- Proficiency with MS Office and Google Workspace
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP
- Experience with Workday Financials a plus
- Strong financial and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Proactive self‑starter comfortable working independently
- Team‑focused mindset with collaborative spirit
Base Pay: $54,000 to $72,000 annually.
Incentive Compensation:
Eligible to participate in an incentive plan specific to the role. Plan details will be provided upon employment.
