key responsibilities

As a Senior Associate with EY-Parthenon’s Corporate Finance Business Valuation practice, you’ll spend your day‑to‑day working on commercial issues, working with management on parts of the acquisition process and regularly undertake valuations for strategic priorities, with a focus on Intangible Assets.

Skills and attributes for success
  • Commercial – advise businesses on valuation issues with regards to acquisition or divestitures and provide fairness opinions on transactions and restructurings.
  • Regulatory and Accounting – work with management as part of an acquisition process to understand how the value of acquired intangible and financial assets will impact accounting requirements.
  • Taxation – regularly undertake valuations for fiscal purposes in the US market and advise clients on all aspects of US tax valuation issues.
  • Intangible Assets – specialize in the valuation of intangibles such as trademarks, brand names, customer relationships, licenses, patents, technology and know‑how.
To qualify for the role, you must have
  • A bachelor's degree in finance, economics, accounting or business and at least 2 years of related business valuation work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 18 months of related work experience.
  • Previous business valuation experience.
  • Financial modeling skills including experience building models from scratch.
  • Demonstrated record of solving complex problems and completing challenging projects.
  • Must reside in or be in a commutable distance to your office location for this position.
  • Ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary; travel may also be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs.
Ideally, you will have
  • Previous valuation experience in professional services/Big 4 Firm.
  • Financial modeling experience.
  • Progress toward a CFA.
  • ASA/AM designations are a plus with the expectation of one completed designation within a given timeframe.
  • Knowledge of how to leverage firm‑approved AI tools in a business setting, including Microsoft Copilot.

What we offer you
  • Competitive base salary ranging from $95,200 to $157,100 in the US, with adjusted ranges for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento). Compensation is based on performance and recognized for the value you bring. The total rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Hybrid work model: most people in client‑serving roles work together in person 40‑60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
