Role at Seattle Credit UnionThe Mortgage Loan Officer will contribute to the team through their responsibility for originating quality residential mortgage loans under a variety of programs by establishing a solid referral base.
What You Will Do- Responsible for producing high‑quality loans which meet investor guidelines and Seattle CU’s lending policy, while providing excellent member service.
- Responsible for meeting minimum sales production goals set by senior management.
- Establish and maintain a network of internal and external referral sources, including real estate brokers, attorneys, accountants, builders, financial planners, and other business professionals.
- Promote Seattle CU’s residential loan products by maintaining regular contact with referral sources to generate new mortgage business.
- Originate mortgage loans, pre‑qualify borrowers, counsel prospective buyers to resolve needs and match with appropriate Seattle CU programs.
- Plan, coordinate, and participate in activities which promote home ownership, including home‑buyer seminars, home shows, broker meetings, and other home financing workshops.
- Maintain community involvement by serving on boards of organizations in relevant Credit Union approved areas to positively represent Seattle CU in the local community.
- Ensure quality and timeliness of mortgage application documentation. Follow up with applicants for information as needed.
- Maintain extensive knowledge of Seattle CU’s mortgage and other company products and services; maintain general knowledge of the mortgage industry, including state and federal mortgage laws and regulations.
- Comply with SAFE Act legislation, which requires annual registration renewal as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO).
- Complete Product/Service Knowledge Assessment within 90 days of employment with a score of at least 80%.
- Generate accurate loan disclosures in a timely manner including RESPA, Reg Z, HMDA, and Reg
B. - Effectively manage pipeline, working with processor to manage closing dates and provide timely information to borrowers and brokers to minimize service issues.

Basic Qualifications:
- At least three years of residential lending sales experience, consistently meeting established sales/production goals.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) and ability to work in a diverse community.
