Summary
The Manager, Finance Business Partner will serve as a senior finance partner to Technology and Product SVP/VP leaders while also managing and developing a small team of Finance Business Partners. This player–coach role leads forecasting, planning, and financial governance for complex technology portfolios and works cross-functionally with FP&A, Accounting, Tax, and Procurement. The role is hybrid and requires presence in downtown Seattle multiple days per week.
Responsibilities- Act as primary finance partner to Technology and Product senior leaders, supporting strategic and day-to-day decision-making.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Finance Business Partners and drive accountability for team outcomes.
- Lead monthly business reviews and in-year outlooks, delivering financial insights, risks, and recommendations.
- Analyze P&L results, identify trends, and recommend investment shifts to optimize ROI.
- Own financial inputs, assumptions, and narratives for assigned portfolios and coordinate with centralized FP&A on forecasting and consolidation.
- Partner on annual planning, scenario analysis, and investment business cases to support prioritization decisions.
- Collaborate with Accounting, Tax, and Sourcing/Procurement on capitalization, expense treatment, and financial governance; drive process improvements and automation.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 8+ years of progressive Finance or FP&A experience, including managing finance professionals.
- Experience serving as a Finance Business Partner to senior Technology, Engineering, or Product organizations.
- Strong people-leadership skills with experience coaching and holding teams accountable in a matrixed environment.
- Advanced planning, forecasting, and analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear insights.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with Smart View-enabled Excel.
- Experience with Oracle-based ERP systems and Workday; familiarity with SQL, Looker, Anaplan, or Alteryx is a plus.
