Pay Range

The Target Pay Range for this position is $26.00–$32.12 hourly. Compensation decisions are based on relevant skills, experience, and education. Performance-based incentives may also be available.

Impact You’ll Make

As a Member Consultant II, you will play a key role in delivering a seamless and high-quality member experience. Your expertise in BECU's products will allow you to identify, diagnose, and address members’ consumer financial needs and refer them to specialized services when necessary. You will serve as a subject-matter expert, resolving member needs and providing advanced financial services expertise.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide excellent customer service and sales across business services, consumer lending, deposit servicing, IRA, POA, and fiduciary accounts.
  • Sign all line and loan documents that originate through outbound or inbound call center, ensuring each member’s needs are fulfilled.
  • Assist the community with financial wellness, including financial education programs, budgeting, debt management, and access to financial planning resources.
About This Role & Pod Expectations

This role is part of a pod (a group of nearby branches) within BECU’s Soundview District. Additional details provided if moved forward in the hiring process.

  • Pod Branches:
    Lake City, Northgate, Ravenna (location support based on business needs)
  • Rotation required:
    Work across all pod branches for up to the first year or more.
  • One-year commitment:
    All retail new hires are expected to remain in this role, pod, and schedule for a minimum of one year before pursuing other opportunities within BECU.
  • Training: 12-week training schedule, Monday-Friday 8:00 AM-6:30 PM. Additional training at Tukwila Financial Center.
  • Travel required:

    Ability to commute between branches and training location.
  • Flexibility required:
    Schedules are typically given 30 days in advance but may require adaptation to varying schedules and branch assignments based on business needs.
Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.
  • Minimum two years of experience in a sales-oriented, financial, or retail environment.
Desired Qualifications
  • One year of experience in a financial institution.
  • Spanish language fluency highly desirable.
  • Thorough understanding of the sales process and ability to manage a sales pipeline efficiently.
  • Strong proficiency and comfort with learning new systems and programs; ability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously.
  • Ability to successfully complete a 12-week in-house training program after hire.
  • Comprehensive understanding and knowledge of credit union objectives, product and service solutions.
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to membership, deposit, and loan products and services offered.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills to enable daily communication with members.
  • Problem resolution, negotiation, organization, multitasking, and peer coaching skills.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts.
