Job Title: Senior Consultant:
Technical Accounting
Location: Seattle
Henderson Drake is working with a pre-IPO, public, and private equity‑backed business seeking a Senior Consultant. This opportunity puts you at the centre of advising clients through M&A, carve‑outs, and IPO readiness.
This is a role for someone who has built a strong technical foundation in public accounting and is ready to apply it in a more client‑facing, advisory capacity, leading engagements rather than simply executing within them, and shaping how clients approach their most consequential transactions.
You’ll be joining a firm built by former Big Four professionals who’ve deliberately kept things lean, technical, and advisory‑led. The work is varied by design, the client base is sophisticated, and there’s a clear path for those who want to build something rather than just deliver against it.

- Build financial models, forecasts, and supporting analyses to inform client decision‑making
- Oversee business process improvement initiatives, working closely with client finance teams
- Act as a liaison between client senior management and their auditors
- Support and guide engagement teams in the field, ensuring quality and consistency of delivery
- Help maintain and grow client relationships, including identifying new opportunities
- Develop subject‑matter expertise in a chosen technical area such as business combinations, revenue recognition, or stock‑based compensation
- Contribute to firm‑building initiatives, including recruiting and strategic growth projects
- 3+ years of public accounting, audit, or accounting advisory experience
- CPA or MBA (or equivalent), with a degree in accounting
- Strong technical command of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirementsA track record of managing multiple client engagements concurrently, often under pressure
- Confident, clear communication with senior stakeholders, including auditors and boards
- An entrepreneurial mindset and genuine interest in building something within a growing firm
- Willingness to travel as client needs require
- Direct exposure to senior management on the transactions that define their businesses
- Real scope to shape your own technical specialism over time
- Opportunity to build lasting client relationships rather than rotate through anonymous engagements
- A firm at a genuine growth stage, with room to influence its direction
- An advisory‑led culture without the bureaucracy typical of larger firms
