The Opportunity with Mc Kinstry

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Venture Support to join our Dawson Ventures Platform team in Seattle, WA. The Senior Manager, Venture Support is responsible for the financial analysis and operational assessment work that underpins investment decisions across Dawson Ventures' early-stage portfolio. The role owns financial modeling, valuation analysis, cash flow forecasting, and corporate development support while also advancing venture performance tracking and cross-functional coordination across business units.

By spanning both financial and operational disciplines, this position ensures leadership has reliable, actionable insights to drive portfolio health and strategic planning, providing both rigorous financial analysis and strategic insight to inform investment decisions.

  • Financial Modeling & Valuation:
Build, maintain, and stress-test financial models (three-statement, DCF, comparable company analysis, ROI/IRR/NPV) for portfolio ventures, capital investments, and new business opportunities. Develop scenario and sensitivity analyses that communicate a realistic range of outcomes to leadership.

  • Venture & Portfolio Financial Accountability:
Own cash flow forecasting and performance tracking for assigned ventures; identify variance drivers and flag risks before they become surprises. Incorporate market trends, commodity prices, and operational challenges into ongoing financial analysis.

  • Corporate Development & Strategic Planning:
Lead and program-manage corporate development activities, including coordination of acquisitions, joint ventures, and partnerships from initial screening through due diligence. Contribute to annual budgeting and strategic planning by translating business unit goals into financial plans and testing the credibility of underlying assumptions. Partner with FP&A to support financial planning and analysis, ensuring alignment between venture performance and broader financial plans.

  • Operational Assessment & Cross-Functional Coordination:
Conduct operational assessments that inform portfolio health and strategic planning. Partner with business unit leaders to surface efficiency and profitability opportunities, coordinating across functions to ensure leadership has integrated, actionable insights.

  • Management Reporting & Financial Analysis:
Own monthly and quarterly financial reporting for the ventures portfolio. Design and maintain dashboards and KPI tracking tools; deliver analysis with a clear point of view and respond to ad hoc requests as they arise.

What You Need to Succeed

  • 8+ years of experience in investment banking, private equity, corporate development, or FP&A with substantial financial modeling and valuation exposure.

  • Ability to build three-statement financial models, DCF analyses, and scenario/sensitivity analyses from scratch; strong command of ROI, IRR, and NPV frameworks.

  • Experience owning financial models in environments with incomplete data and misaligned stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to support M&A, joint venture, or strategic partnership processes from a financial analysis perspective.

  • Business judgment to translate operational decisions into financial outcomes and hold credible conversations with operators and senior executives.
