Overview
Charles Schwab’s Fixed Income Trading Team manages the firm’s Bond Source platform, offering clients a daily choice of over 200,000 different fixed‑income securities. Popular products include Municipal and Corporate Bonds, CDs, U.S. Treasury Bills, Notes, and Bonds. The group consists of approximately 35 traders across three locations:
Lone Tree, CO;
Jersey City, NJ; and San Francisco, CA.
We are looking for a qualified junior Fixed Income Trader to support our Fixed Income Syndicate Team and other desk functions. Responsibilities include handling the New Issue and Secondary order flow for Certificates of Deposit, Structured Products, Retail Notes/MTN, and preferred stock offerings; becoming proficient in various fixed‑income products and electronic platforms; providing support to national sales teams; and working to identify and implement process improvements.
Strong communication and teamwork skills and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment are essential. The position is located in Lone Tree, CO.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
Preferred Qualifications
- 1‑2 years of trading experience
- Experience working in Bloomberg
- Ability to collect and analyze data to develop, manage, and enhance tools for increased efficiency
- Experience with SQL
- Very strong Excel skills; additional database platform knowledge desired
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and manage daily work load
- Series7 &63 required to be obtained within 3‑6 months of employment
- Series
57 required to obtain license within 6 months of employment
