Finance Manager, AWS Internal Rates Team

Are you ready to make a impact by optimizing AWS Cloud Usage efficiencies through internal pricing decisions? As a Finance Manager on the AWS Internal Rates team, you will play a crucial role in managing complex processes cross‑functionally to set internal pricing and forecast internal usage of AWS Cloud products. This position offers an exciting opportunity to partner with stakeholders across Amazon and AWS to maximize cloud cost efficiency and enhance Amazon's long‑term free cash flow.

In this role, you’ll lead cross‑functional teams and processes, conducting data deep dives to inform critical pricing decisions. Your analytical expertise will be instrumental in developing structured pricing frameworks, while your strong communication skills will enable effective stakeholder management across multiple business units.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Partner with stakeholders across Amazon and AWS to establish and maintain internal pricing structures that are sound and cost‑driven.
  • Lead cross‑functional teams and processes to identify opportunities for cost optimization, developing analytical frameworks that deliver actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Analyze complex datasets to develop financial models that accurately forecast the impact of internal pricing decisions on P&Ls.
  • Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for process improvement, creating scalable and auditable data analysis processes.
  • Maintain a good understanding of AWS Services and cost drivers.
  • Collaborate with Fintech and Finance teams to automate existing manual processes at scale.
  • Collaborate with forecasting data science teams and Finance to improve cloud usage forecasting processes.
About the Team

The AWS Internal Rates team sits at the intersection of finance and cloud technology, managing the complex process of setting internal pricing across AWS cloud services. Our mission is to ensure these rates align to underlying cost and also drive optimal internal usage behavior that maximizes cost efficiency and enhances Amazon's long‑term free cash flow.

Our team works collaboratively to develop sophisticated pricing frameworks that balance operational needs with financial objectives. We partner closely with stakeholders throughout Amazon and AWS to understand service requirements, usage patterns, and financial implications of our decisions.

Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science), or a Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of quantitative role experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan.
  • 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations with proven business impact (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits).
  • MBA or CPA.
  • Experience working with large‑scale data mining and reporting tools (e.g., SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
  • Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and interpreting results.
  • Knowledge of SQL/ETL.
  • 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses.
  • 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision‑making.
  • 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis.
  • 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results.
Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range for this position is from $95,400.00 to $ USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs).
