Job Title:Financial Coach (Mason/Grays Harbor)

Location:Based out of Centralia, WA with regular travel to Grays Harbor and/or Pacific counties

Schedule:Monday-Friday, Full-Time (Day Shift, In-Person)

Compensation:$62,000 Annual Salary

Position Summary

America Works of Washington, Inc., a socially conscious organization committed to helping individuals achieve economic self-sufficiency, is seeking aFinancial Coachto support participant financial stability, financial empowerment, and long-term economic mobility within a workforce development program serving

Mason and Pacific Counties.

The Financial Coach provides participant-centered financial coaching to help individualsidentifyand overcome financial barriers, develop financial goals, strengthen financial confidence, and build strategies related to budgeting, savings, credit building, debt management, benefits navigation, and asset development.

Working as part of the Career Success Team, the Financial Coach collaborates with Career Coaches, Eligibility Specialists, employers, training providers, and community partners to provide coordinated support that helps participants achieve employment success, retention, and long-term financial security.

The ideal candidate enjoys working directly with people, building relationships, and helping individuals develop practical strategies to improve their financial well-being. Experience in financial coaching, personal finance, case management,benefitsnavigation, customer service, workforce development, social services, or other participant-focused roles is valued.

Women, minorities, bilingual or multilingual candidates, and individuals with lived experience navigating financial or employment barriers are encouraged to apply.

The candidate must be willing to travel between Aberdeen and Shelton locations and provide services at multiple sites based on program needs.

Duties and Responsibilities Financial Coaching & Participant Support

Provide one-on-one financial coaching and support to program participants.

Conduct financial assessments to understand participant income, expenses, financial goals, barriers, and areas for support.

Help participants develop individualized financial action plans with goals, strategies, resources, and follow-up steps.

Support participants with budgeting, savings strategies, credit building, debt management, and improving financial confidence.

Provide ongoing coaching, encouragement, accountability, and problem-solving support to help participants achieve their goals.

Build trusting, respectful, and culturally responsive relationships with participants.

Benefits Navigation & Financial Stability

Support participants in understanding and accessing income supports and basicneedsresources, including TANF, SNAP, housing assistance, transportationassistance, and other community resources.

Help participants understand how changes in employment and income mayimpactbenefits and household financial stability.

Assist participants inidentifyingresources and strategies to overcome financial barriers that mayimpactemployment success.

Provide guidance on financial planning during career transitions, increased income, and changes in household circumstances.

Asset Building & Financial Empowerment

Support eligible participants with Matched Savings Investment Accounts (MISA) and other asset-building opportunities.

Help participants develop savings goals,establishsavings habits, and understand strategies for building long-term financial stability.

Provide education related to asset building, financial planning, and economic mobility.

Trackparticipantprogress toward financial goals and celebrate milestones.

Financial Literacy & Workshops

Facilitate financial literacy workshops and group education sessions as needed.

Provide education on topics such as:

Budgeting and spending plans

Savings strategies

Credit building and credit management

Debt…
