The Sr Project Finance Associate in Renewable Energy plays a key role in a leading project finance team, focusing on debt and tax equity financings for renewable energy projects such as solar, wind, storage, and related infrastructure. Responsibilities include structuring, negotiating, and closing construction and term debt facilities, tax credit monetization transactions, and other capital arrangements. The role involves drafting and negotiating various deal documents, managing due diligence, coordinating related teams, and liaising directly with clients and counter parties from initial term sheets to project closings.
Candidates are expected to lead financing transactions, acquisitions, and joint ventures. Qualified applicants should have a JD with active bar membership and at least six years of experience in project finance and M&A within a reputable law firm, particularly with renewables. Strong negotiation, drafting, communication, and project management skills are essential, along with a solid understanding of tax equity structures and market-standard terms.
The position requires a commitment of approximately 1,800 hours annually, including billable, pro bono, and development activities. The base salary ranges from $315,000 to $350,000, depending on experience and skills. Seattle is the preferred office for this position; however, they will consider candidates interested in the Minneapolis, Portland, Sacramento, San Diego, San Francisco, and Washington, DC offices.
