- Reports directly to the VP of Banking, Tax and Distribution.
- Manage, mentor, and train a team of tax professionals.
- Coordinate the annual and quarterly filings/payments for multiple state and federal employer and employee taxes for multiple entities.
- Calculate and coordinate payment of estimated and final corporate taxes for managed entities.
- Respond to IRS and State tax agencies regarding inquiries and garnishments.
- Coordinate and File information returns using the IRIS and BSO systems.
- Coordinate the opening and closing of state and federal tax accounts.
- Maintain a tax calendar to ensure that tax deadlines are met.
- Communicate with other teams within the company to assist with tax filings, tax reserve calculations, quarterly tax payments, tax refunds, tax payments, etc.
- Perform special projects as assigned.
- Manage a company tax mail inbox and assign tasks, as necessary.
- 12+ years of tax experience in a public accounting firm.
- 7+ years of experience leading teams with a strong balance of emotional intelligence and business acumen.
- Proficient in filing of muti-state/federal quarterly and annual employment tax returns, 1120 series tax returns, and annual information returns.
- Proficient in calculating estimated corporate tax involving investment income with multiple deductions.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and MS Access. (Pivot tables, v lookups, formulas)
- Strong knowledge of the IRS IRIS, FIRE and BSO SSA Systems
- Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) to every level of the organization.
- The ability to prioritize tasks and meet court ordered deadlines in a demanding environment.
- Results driven with an elevated level of initiative, teamwork, urgency, accountability, and integrity.
- Prior experience and working knowledge of IRS Section 1.468B regarding QSFs is highly preferred.
