Clinical Trials Financial Analyst II
The Clinical Trials Financial Analyst II role provides postaward fiscal management support for programs under Clinical Research Support (CRS), will be responsible for management of postaward activities for an assigned portfolio of clinical trials and reports to the CRS Assistant Director, Post Award Financial Management.

Responsibilities- Partner with clinical trial startup team and consortium study teams to ensure sponsor payment terms, study budget and billing grid align with CRS standards.
- Generate sponsor invoices timely and help ensure accurate tracking and reporting is available for each study.
- Review Epic charts and invoices, review and utilize tools such as OnCore CRA Console, Subject Console, Financial Console, Vendor Payables, and Epic Research Module, to help ensure invoices to study budgets are accurate in accordance with Medicare Coverage Analysis (MCA), Clinical Trial Agreement (CTA) and Informed Consent Form (ICF).
- Work with Clinical Research Coordinators impacting invoicing and bill reconciliation to correct workflow issues, when identified.
- Coordinate with billing offices on billing issues, when identified.
- Produce reports of overall study receipts, invoices and other postaward information as necessary to present to relevant stakeholders; develop QC checks to ensure issues are identified early.
- Prepare, submit and manage internal financial processes and coordinate with clinic implementation staff.
- Collaborate with cancer consortium parallel offices and clinic partners to ensure all institutional post award requirements are met.
- Create multi-year and annual budgets. Monitor financial performance relative to budget and explain variances and trends.
- Monitor and track monthly labor and non-labor spending for allocation of appropriate costs to Sponsored projects.
- Provide Budget-to-actual financial reporting, expense approvals, and invoice processing while assuring charges are appropriate, allowable, allocable, and paid promptly.
- Prepare ongoing financial analysis, forecasting, and ad hoc financial models.
- Review internal billing compliance documents and OnCore study calendars to ensure financial infrastructure is sound and in alignment with protocol requirements and study sponsor funding terms.
- Work professionally and proactively with central offices, clinic partners, faculty members, and research collaborators in support of the overall research plan.
- Assist with other departmental fiscal objectives as needed and provide recommendations for changes in processes or practices that standardize, automate and optimize efficiencies in routine tasks.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, related field or equivalent qualification and experience.
- Minimum of two years of experience in finance, preferable in Phase I-III clinical trials.
- Must have previous experience developing complex, multi-phase clinical trial budgets, negotiating study budgets, revisions and knowledge of medical terminology.
- Working knowledge of financial information and related operational statistics.
- Ability to develop and perform complex calculations in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills, including an ability to understand complex problems, to collaborate and explore alternative solutions. Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology.
- Ability to work independently on multiple projects and communicate status of projects to key decision makers on a proactive basis.
- Exposure to grant accounting or project cost accounting a plus.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Clinical research related certification preferred.
- Demonstrated familiarity with process improvement principles.
- Demonstrated familiarity with project management tools and techniques.
- Experience performing clinical trial management/administration and/or sponsor invoicing activities utilizing OnCore or another CTMS system.
- Experience performing or reviewing clinical trial management/administration activities utilizing EPIC or another patient billing and registration system.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $80,475 to $120,682, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
