At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.

We are a team of collaborators, doers, and problem-solvers who are relentlessly committed to the pursuit of safe and repeatable spaceflight. As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, engineers, and program managers, you will support the development and operation of our space vehicles and help enable Blue Origin's vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth.

The New Glenn Finance team is a high-performance group, and we are looking for a Director to lead the Sustaining Finance organization by coordinating all New Glenn financial activities and supporting the New Glenn Cadence business unit. You will be the accountable financial leader for driving the New Glenn financial processes while also serving as the finance partner to the Cadence leadership team, which is responsible for launching the first-generation New Glenn space vehicle.

This is a hands‑on leadership role requiring strong project management skills with a focus on process improvement. You will manage and develop a strong team, while remaining capable of challenging assumptions, constructing driver-based outlooks, connecting detailed actuals to P&L and cash outcomes, and framing complex decisions for executives. Success means driving cost improvement, creating predictable forecasts, enabling efficient resource allocation, and building scalable tools and controls as launch cadence increases.

Passion for our mission and vision is required. Ability to work full-time on‑site in Kent, WA, is required, and relocation assistance will be provided.

Responsibilities
  • Lead, organize, and develop the New Glenn Sustaining Finance team; set clear ownership, operating rhythms, analytical standards, and expectations for business partnership.
  • Own the annual operating plan, quarterly forecasts, long‑range plan, and in‑year outlook across P&L, cash, headcount, and capital, with explicit assumptions and accountable business owners.
  • Build and govern an integrated driver‑based model that translates launch rate, production flow, cycle time, yield, labor efficiency, material consumption, capacity, and reliability into financial outcomes.
  • Lead monthly business and financial reviews, including budget‑versus‑actual analysis, forward‑looking risks and opportunities, decision points, corrective actions, and executive‑level narratives.
  • Serve as the accountable finance leader for the New Glenn Cadence organization and primary financial advisor to its leadership team; shape priorities, challenge assumptions, and drive fact‑based decisions.
  • Own cost‑per‑flight and launch unit‑economics transparency in partnership with product cost, operations, and accounting; distinguish recurring, non‑recurring, fixed, and variable cost drivers.
  • Direct scenario, sensitivity, and investment analysis for rate increases, capacity expansion, make‑versus‑buy decisions, sourcing strategies, capital investments, and cost‑reduction initiatives.
  • Partner with Accounting to ensure accurate close, accruals, inventory and capitalization treatment, account reconciliations, and financial controls for the Cadence organization.
  • Establish a durable performance‑management system of KPIs, data lineage, models, dashboards, and controlled AI‑enabled workflows that enables leadership self‑service without sacrificing accuracy.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, supply chain, program management, product cost, accounting, and enterprise FP&A to align operating decisions with New Glenn program and company financial outcomes.
  • Present recommendations and tradeoffs to senior executives,…
