* This position is eligible for telework up to one day per workweek, following the successful completion of an initial 6‑month training period.
The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual to fill a permanent Correctional Records Technician Lead at the Washington Corrections Center in Shelton, Washington.
Washington Corrections Center is located 35 miles west of Olympia, the state capital. WCC is the Reception and Diagnostic Center, a close‑custody facility with the primary responsibility to process, test, and classify all adult male felons sentenced to prison in Washington State. The facility has seven living units and houses 1,700 incarcerated individuals. There are about 500 incarcerated individuals screened and assessed each month.
WCC is also the major hub for transfer of incarcerated individuals to and from facilities throughout the state.

WorkAssignments Include Calculates length of incarceration, determines community custody, and/or determines release dates
- Uses advanced knowledge of sentencing options and types to determine supervision types and sentencing options. Enters complex sentence structures in accordance with judgment and sentence and/or other court documents.
- Audits judgment and sentences and other court documents to verify the court’s accuracy in sentencing individuals per applicable RCWs, legislative changes and court decisions.
- Verifies jail credits as ordered by the court or as certified by the county jail. Calculates good time jail credits as applicable per RCW.
- Establish and validate agency jurisdiction of incarcerated individuals.
- Verify electronic database information against source documents and resolve problems that relate to the incarcerated individuals' sentencing.
