This is a telework/hybrid position. The candidate may work from anywhere within the state of Washington with a reliable internet connection. Travel will be required to meet with staff and administer in‑person testing.

The Correctional Records Supervisor (CRS) leads the Tolling Records Unit, the agency’s custodian of tolling records for individuals under DOC jurisdiction. The unit records, audits, and interprets statewide tolling activities that determine Scheduled End Dates (SED), marking the end of the Department’s jurisdiction for individuals supervised in the community.
Responsibilities- Direct and supervise correctional records tolling staff and the overall work of the unit.
- Order and request supplies and equipment.
- Plan, assign, and review the work of the tolling staff; conduct staff meetings to evaluate workload and promote teamwork.
- Track and report monthly metrics for the Tolling Unit.
- Identify training needs and provide or arrange instruction.
- Respond to inquiries regarding records issues from internal and external entities.
- Evaluate employee performance and prepare performance appraisals.
- Resolve staff issues, recognize employees, and counsel them on work‑related activities and career development.
- Interpret public court decisions, RCWs, and Indeterminate Sentence Review Board redeterminations to compute or recompute scheduled end dates.
- Train staff on offender database systems, public disclosure laws, and criminal history record laws.
- Implement operational adjustments following changes to law, court decisions, or administrative regulations.
- Review and verify the SED of supervised individuals.
- Provide effective communication and thorough, timely request processing.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Three (3) or more years of reconciling tolling activities and verifying scheduled end dates for individuals under DOC jurisdiction.
- Five (5) years of experience maintaining or processing records of individuals under the jurisdiction of an adult correctional agency. (Records are defined as certified copies of original documents related to the individual’s crime and sentence.)
- College‑level coursework in criminal justice, business administration, accounting, social science or related field may substitute up to two (2) years of experience.
- Respect and maintain confidentiality.
- Effective communication with coworkers, the public, and criminal justice agencies.
- Ability to analyze and solve problems under highly stressful or adverse situations.
- Ability to learn and utilize computer‑based applications in job duties.
- Mathematical skill for complex sentence structure calculations.
- Knowledge of Washington sentencing laws, DOC supervision types, and applicable DOC policy for criminal history document processing.
- Two (2) years of experience as a direct supervisor or lead.
- Additional knowledge of Washington sentencing laws, DOC supervision types, and DOC policy to ensure jurisdiction.
- Knowledge of criminal history document processing.
- Pass a CRS aptitude test with 70% or more accuracy.
- Telework may be allocated; work can be performed from a home or other off‑site location within Washington using a reliable internet or cellular hotspot.
- Employees must be able to commute to a DOC facility or field office as business requires, including onboarding.
