This is an INTERNAL recruitment, open to current, permanent WA State Department of Corrections employees only. Employees assigned to a permanent duty station in King County will receive a 5% premium pay calculated from their base salary. Our agency offers a free ORCA card to all employees whose permanent duty station is assigned in King, Pierce, and Snohomish counties.
DOC's mission is to improve public safety by positively changing lives. Our agency is looking to INTERNALLY fill three full-time, permanent Community Corrections Officer 3 (CCO3) vacancies within the Community Corrections Division. All positions work for the Tukwila Field Unit located at the Seattle Community Justice Center (CJC), 1550 4th Ave South, Seattle, WA 98134. CCO3s work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and contribute to the agency's mission by improving public safety.
As a lead CCO, this position provides training and coaching to other CCOs. Shift hours: Monday-Friday. Duties- Supervise individuals who have committed a crime and have been ordered to supervision in the community in accordance with Washington State law, Interstate Compact Rules/Regulations, and agency policy within prescribed time frames.
- Engage with supervised individuals (S/Is) to work towards positive change.
- Enforce supervision conditions and the law.
- Lead other Community Corrections Officers.
- Act as the Unit Duty Officer.
- Other duties as assigned or necessary.
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR ALL CASES LISTED BELOW
- Armed staff must have the ability to carry and properly utilize a department-issued firearm.
Note:
Staff who do not qualify for legacy status under the provisions for arming are required to be armed and must be willing and able to possess and use a firearm under federal and state law; maintain firearm qualifications; and successfully complete ongoing training requirements associated with mandatory arming and potential use of force. - Must possess and maintain an unrestricted vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Washington.
