Senior Tribal Policy Manager
The Attorney General's Office is recruiting for a full-time Senior Tribal Policy Manager (EX210) position in the Policy Division. This position is not union represented and is located in Seattle, Washington. The salary for this position is $120,516/annually. Position incumbents assigned to our Seattle office location receive an additional 5% King County Location Pay stipend.
This position is in the Policy Division, which works in a collaborative environment to develop and execute the AGO's policy programs, legislative mandates, and the AG's policy priorities. In support of the mission and values of the Attorney General's Office, this position seeks to advance the Indigenous justice work of the Policy division by leading a team of Tribal policy analysts and serving as a member of the Policy Division's management team, led by the Policy Director.
The Tribal Policy team includes the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and People (MMIWP) Task Force, the Truth and Healing Tribal Advisory Committee (TAC), and the Emmett Till Cold Case Investigations and Prosecutions grant program. In addition to supporting team staff and projects, this position maintains an ongoing portfolio of policy work consistent with the goal of pursuing justice for Tribes and Indigenous communities.
To be successful in the role, the candidate will need to:
- Maintain a Tribal policy portfolio on issues relevant to Washington Tribes, intersecting with ongoing Tribal Policy work, and related to the Policy Division's work and expertise. The incumbent will work with Tribes and Tribal community members as well as colleagues in other AGO divisions and external partners and will maintain the policy portfolio using an intersectional lens to proactively identify opportunities to make meaningful difference.
- Manage the Tribal policy team day-to-day delegation, management, supervision, support, performance evaluation, and coaching of team staff, as well as long-term planning and strategy for team projects to advance project goals.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge, oversight, and budget management of Tribal projects including the MMIWP Task Force, Boarding Schools TAC, and Emmett Till grant. This responsibility will require the incumbent to collaborate closely with the AGO Director of Tribal Relations and Legislative Team to support Tribal policy projects and other policy work impacting Tribes and Tribal communities.
