Description
SMG is seeking a highly qualified Coding Quality Educator to support the accuracy, compliance, and effectiveness of physician billing operations. This role requires a professional with exceptional coding proficiency and strong presentation and communication skills, capable of delivering clear, structured, and engaging education to diverse clinical and administrative audiences. The ideal candidate will serve as a trusted expert who can translate complex coding requirements into accessible, actionable guidance.
ResponsibilitiesCoding Quality Educator will assist with clinician/coder training and ongoing department education as well as assist with the identification, development and delivery of new and ongoing clinician education and training related to coding and clinical documentation improvement opportunities. In addition, the role may conduct independent and collaborative clinician/coder reviews/audits and provide documentation to support the coding review work performed and educate based on findings.

National Certification from American Academy of Professional Coders or upon hire:
National Certified Coding Associate - American Health Information Management Association or upon hire:
National Certified Coding Specialist - American Health Information Management Association or upon hire:
National Certified Coding Specialist - Physician - American Health Information Management Association or upon hire:
National Certified Documentation Improvement Practitioner - American Health Information Management Association or upon hire:
National Certified Health Data Analyst - American Health Information Management Association or upon hire:
National Registered Health Information Administrator - American Health Information Management Association or upon hire:
National Registered Health Information Technician - American Health Information Management Association - 5 years experience in medical insurance reimbursement, medical billing, and coding related to charge review and work RVU’s
- 5 years experience in reviewing patient account information, insurance explanation of benefits, computer screens, and financial records
- Associate s Degree

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate s placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
