The Associate Director, Specialty Labs oversees the Clinical Immunogenetics Laboratory, the Pharmacokinetics Laboratory, and the Lymphoma Genomics Laboratory and collaborates with investigators on developing new tests. Responsibilities include department operations and administration, coordination of individual laboratories and services, quality and regulatory oversight, financial management, and improvement projects. All responsibilities require both individual accountability and collaboration with other groups and departments. Direct reports include managers of the Pharmacokinetics Laboratory and Clinical Immunogenetics Laboratory.

FTE/full-time, Monday-Friday.
- The Associate Director, Specialty Labs oversees the Clinical Immunogenetics Laboratory, Pharmacokinetics Laboratory, and Lymphoma Genomics Laboratory. Responsibilities include department operations and administration, coordination of individual laboratories and services, quality and regulatory oversight, financial management, and improvement projects. All responsibilities require both individual accountability and collaboration with other groups and departments. Direct reports include managers of the Pharmacokinetics Laboratory and Clinical Immunogenetics Laboratory.
- With respect to the newly initiated Lymphoma Genomics Lab operations, the associate director will provide technical and operational oversight of genomic testing operation and clinical assays performance, assist in data preview and reporting, oversee quality control and proficiency testing, and monitor instrument performance and coordinate the maintenance.
- Oversee operations of the specialty laboratories, including the management of operational and strategic objectives and budgets. Facilitate operational decision making and efficient utilization of resources to provide timely and accurate testing services.
- Ensure effective communication between the laboratories and internal and external partners, including clinical coordination; provide laboratory representation to multiple forums across Fred Hutch, Seattle Children’s Hospital and University of Washington partners, and clients of reference services.
- Provides leadership and support to move laboratory initiatives forward; ensure laboratory interests are well represented in collaborative projects. Support implementation of new technologies and instrumentation, including laboratory information management systems.
- Mentor managers and provide opportunities for leadership development. Ensure staff training, development, and orientation. Responsible for personnel issues, including hiring, performance management, continuing education and disciplinary actions.
