• In addition to UW Medical Center-Montlake, this Perfusionist includes privileges at Harborview Medical Center and the VA which will be about 10% of the position location

• Independently responsible for the technology of extra-corporeal circulation associated with a variety of surgical procedures and cardiac management therapies
• Operate the heart and lung machine, temporary ventricular assist devices (VADS), Organ Care Systems (OCS), and extracorporeal membrane oxygenators (ECMO)
• Work closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to tailor the perfusion to the needs of each patient
• Utilize the appropriate technology to monitor and maintain patient parameters which includes the regulation of blood pressure, heart rate, urinary output, arterial and venous blood gasses, acid/base status, blood coagulation, temperature, and myocardial protection
• Constantly assess the mechanical parameters of the circuit
• Procedures covered include coronary artery bypass grafts, valve repair/replacement, aortic aneurysms, heart and lung transplantation, ventricular assist device surgeries, and extracorporeal life support

• Experience preferred, will consider new graduates
• Current certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion within one year of hire.
• Graduation from an Accredited Perfusion Technology Program or approved program of Extracorporeal Technology.
