Pharmacy Manager
Take the lead in managing a dedicated team of pharmacy staff, ensuring members have access to essential prescription medications. Contribute to the pharmacy strategy aimed at improving healthcare outcomes and delivering quality, cost-effective care to our members.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) for assigned health plans, ensuring adherence to service warranties and performance standards.
- Assist in pharmacy-related projects for health plans and corporate initiatives.
- Support state health plan functions, goals, and objectives.
- Serve as the primary pharmacy contact for state agencies as necessary.
- Identify pharmacy trends and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Collaborate with member and provider service teams for both Molina and the PBM.
- Manage the pharmacy SharePoint site and contribute feedback for website updates.
- Develop regular and ad hoc communications for pharmacy members and providers.
- Support pharmacy leadership in updating state-specific policies and ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and provide ad hoc reporting on pharmacy-related data.
- Provide expert guidance on pharmacy compliance and legislative matters.
- Assist with corporate pharmacy quality initiatives.
- Support state investigations by the Office of Inspector General (OIG).
- Contribute to the state member lock-in program.
- Engage in state-specific formulary management tasks.
- Support health plan pharmacy interactions.
- Resolve urgent issues related to pharmacy services, including handling state complaints.
- Ensure compliance during all pharmacy audits, including SOX, CMS, and internal reviews.
- Act as the main point of contact for the PBM on behalf of health plans.
- Supervise pharmacy staff, holding them accountable for their performance.
- Coach pharmacy staff and assist in identifying training needs in collaboration with pharmacy leadership.
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in pharmacy, pharmacy managed care, or Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM), or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 1 year of management or leadership experience.
- Strong ability to present ideas and information clearly to diverse audiences.
- Knowledgeable in developing and delivering training to departmental staff and internal clients.
- Strong interpersonal skills to cultivate positive relationships with coworkers, clients, members, providers, regulatory agencies, and vendors.
- Proficient in data compilation, reporting, and presentation.
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and relevant software programs.
- Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) and/or a valid state pharmacy technician license, or a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm
D) degree. If licensed, the license must be active and unrestricted in the state of practice. - Experience in health plan pharmacy operations.
