Join the compassionate and high‑performing team at the Swedish Maternal Fetal Specialty Center, where you’ll play a vital role supporting complex patient care for expectant parents and families. As a Senior Medical Assistant, you will help ensure a seamless, supportive clinic experience by coordinating multiple patient care services and independently managing a wide range of clerical and administrative responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Patient Scheduling & Coordination:
Scheduling new patient visits, follow‑up appointments, treatment sessions, and diagnostic tests. - Insurance Support:
Securing insurance verifications, referrals, and authorizations to ensure timely patient care. - Medical Record Management:
Preparing, updating, and maintaining comprehensive patient medical records. - Billing Support:
Reconciling billing issues in collaboration with the clinic team. - Patient Communication:
Managing multiple phone lines, triaging incoming calls, and addressing patient needs with professionalism and compassion.
The Senior Medical Assistant interacts with patients and families during some of their most vulnerable moments. Excellent communication skills, strong problem‑solving abilities, compassion, sensitivity, and emotional stability are essential.
As a key member of the physician practice team, you will serve as a professional liaison between patients, families, providers, and other departments—helping create a coordinated and reassuring care environment.
Required Qualifications- Graduate of certified medical assistant program
- Washington Medical Assistant Certification upon hire
- National Provider BLS – American Heart Association upon hire
- 1 year of Medical Assistant experience in a healthcare setting (i.e., physician’s office, scheduler, etc.)
- Associate's Degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school with emphasis in Health Care
- Experience in obtaining insurance verifications, referrals and authorizations
- Experience with Epic

Compensation & BenefitsPay Range: $29.56 – $44.46 per hour. Additional compensation may be available for shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
