RADIOLOGY TECHNOLOGIST - MRI.

Under the direction of a radiologist, the MRI Technologist performs Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI examinations) accurately, independently, and efficiently.

Our board‑certified radiologists have specialty training in cardiac imaging, neuroimaging, musculoskeletal, interventional radiology, nuclear medicine, and body and breast imaging. Along with our expert imaging technologists, they are committed to diagnosing illnesses and injuries quickly and effectively so treatment can begin. We take time to explain procedures with each patient, so they’ll know what to expect every step of the way.

Radiology Services at UW Medical Center – Northwest offers routine radiology, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), computed tomography (CT), ultrasound, nuclear medicine, and interventional radiology.

• Prepares patient and independently performs MRI exams and procedures.
• Informs patients of exam procedure, transfers and positions patient safely and properly for examination, and observes and monitors patient’s condition and reactions to exam.
• Produces technically acceptable MRI exams, selects proper technical factors, and reviews and evaluates MRI images to determine that they are satisfactory for diagnostic purposes.
• Performs quality assurance checks on equipment and processes per department policies and investigates and informs supervisor of any quality issues or problems.
• Completes required paperwork and records, accurately inputs exam orders, patient data, patient charges, and prepares reports.
• Continually evaluates patient flow and work assignments, makes necessary adjustments, and prioritizes work effectively.
• Answers phones, may assist in other areas such as order entry, image library, scheduling, and patient transport.
• Maintains the patient environment by setting up exam rooms and ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are ready, cleans and tidies exam rooms, wait rooms, and checks restroom cleanliness.
• Assists with training and mentoring new personnel and students, prepares and presents in‑service education programs if assigned, and participates in departmental goals and performance improvement projects.

• Certified by the State of Washington as a Radiologic Technologist.
• Satisfactory completion of formal technology training in an AMA‑approved school and registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when legal requirements such as a license, certification, and/or registration apply.

• Pay Range Minimum: $50.49 hourly.
• Pay Range Maximum: $78.98 hourly.
• Shift: Alternate Work Shift (United States of America).
