Assistant Professor WOT, Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Division of Physical Therapy

The Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Washington invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor WOT (without tenure due to funding), with an anticipated but flexible start date of October 1, 2026. We seek applicants who demonstrate commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service in a diverse and inclusive academic community. The successful candidate will join our faculty on a full-time basis for a twelve-month service period (July 1 – June 30), with an initial appointment term of 3 years, renewable.

Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.

Faculty appointed WOT (without tenure due to funding) are in a non-tenure track because all or part of their annual University-administered salary is derived from sources other than regularly appropriated state funds. Except for this distinction, WOT faculty members have the same rights, responsibilities, and obligations as tenure track and tenured faculty members at those ranks.

The base salary range for this position will be $8,000 - $10,830 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Opportunities to serve as a research capstone advisor and to mentor students in the PhD Program in Rehabilitation Science and clinical residency programs are also available.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to collaborate with existing research teams and will be expected to develop, establish, and maintain an independently funded research program.
