Position: Radiologic Technologist-Paid Mammography Training-Per Diem-Day-Capitol Hill

Job Summary

Provide mammography services to patients in accordance with physician orders. Prepare mammography rooms and diagnostic equipment. Perform high‑quality testing, operate equipment according to safety standards, and develop films. Exercise professional judgment and uphold medical ethics in performance of diagnostic services. Apply knowledge of growth and development principles to identify requirements for age‑specific patients. Maintain strict patient and staff confidentiality. Comply with all regulations pertaining to mammography (MQSA/ACR).

Essential

Responsibilities
  • Diagnostic Testing:
    Perform mammography images through clinical protocols, position patient to best demonstrate anatomic area, and record results. Develop films, evaluate image quality, and ensure proper identification. Provide patient education, facilitate cooperation, and address concerns.
  • Customer Service:
    Deliver timely, expert services to patients, physicians, and staff. Communicate delays, expectations, and exam results. Maintain privacy and professionalism.
  • Patient and Employee Safety:
    Maintain safe radiation levels, perform equipment checks, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, complete quality assurance and control, identify patients, and manage contrast reactions and first aid as necessary.
  • Computer System:
    Accurately input patient information into the departmental system and manage appointment records per IDX‑Rad and IDX‑Mam guidelines.
  • General Behavior:
    Arrive ready for work, maintain a clean radiology room, identify training needs, communicate concerns, work effectively as a team, rotate shifts and assignments as required, and take stand‑by call as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist (Washington) required at hire.
  • Basic Life Support required at hire.
  • State of Washington certification as Mammography Technologist and AART‑M registration by hire, or willingness to train a radiology technician with two years experience.
Additional Requirements
  • Communication skills, problem‑solving skills, consistent and excellent customer service.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One year of mammography experience.
