Medical Assistant
Join a patient-focused healthcare team in Downtown Seattle as a Medical Assistant, providing both clinical and administrative support in a community health setting. In this role, you deliver compassionate care to a diverse patient population, including individuals living with HIV/AIDS, while helping to ensure efficient clinic operations and a consistently positive patient experience.
Responsibilities- Perform blood draws and phlebotomy with a high level of accuracy, safety, and patient comfort.
- Provide core medical assistant support, including rooming patients, taking and recording vital signs, and assisting with basic patient care.
- Support clinical workflows to keep daily operations running smoothly and efficiently.
- Provide front office coverage, including greeting patients and managing patient flow.
- Complete patient intake and registration, ensuring accurate and timely collection of patient information.
- Verify insurance information and process referrals in alignment with clinic procedures.
- Deliver a positive, respectful, and empathetic patient experience at every interaction.
- Collaborate closely with clinical and administrative team members to ensure seamless coordination of care and services.
- Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and adherence to clinical protocols in all aspects of work.
- Discuss and support conversations related to sexual health, including HIV/AIDS, with sensitivity and professionalism.
- At least 2+ years of experience working as a Medical Assistant.
- Active Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) credential in Washington State.
- At least 1+ year of experience performing blood draws and phlebotomy.
- Proficiency in blood collection techniques and safe handling of specimens.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to provide both clinical and administrative support in a busy clinic setting.
- Comfort discussing sexual health topics, including HIV/AIDS, with patients in a respectful and professional manner.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to support a positive patient experience.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary clinical and administrative teams.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a community health or safety-net clinic environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to serving diverse communities, including individuals living with HIV/AIDS.
- Experience working in or supporting LGBTQ+ communities.
- Ability to maintain empathy, professionalism, and efficiency when working with patients of varied backgrounds and health needs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in both clinical and administrative tasks.
This role is based in a clinic environment in Downtown Seattle, serving a diverse community, including individuals living with HIV/AIDS and patients regardless of ability to pay. You work as part of a collaborative team of clinical and administrative professionals in a setting that supports and affirms LGBTQ+ patients and staff. The clinic offers full benefits, including three weeks of paid time off, as well as opportunities for pay increases such as an annual cost-of-living adjustment and eligibility for a quarterly performance‑based bonus after the introductory period.
The environment is fast‑paced yet supportive, with a strong emphasis on impactful, community‑centered care and a professional clinical dress code appropriate for direct patient interaction.
Permanent position based out of Seattle, WA.
Pay and BenefitsPay range: $52,000 – $54,080 per year.
Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, Medical GAP Plan, Life Insurance, Disability Insurance, FSA, EAP, 401(k), education assistance, and various employee discounts. PTO: 3 weeks (4 weeks after 3 years of service), accrued sick pay. 8 holidays plus 1 floating holiday.
