Description:
A Sterile Processing Technician, plays a critical role in the sanitation and infection control efforts of a healthcare facility. Their duties include sterilizing instruments and equipment, processing and maintaining inventory and fulfilling supply requests.
Responsibilities- Retrieving contaminated supplies from medical facilities
- Maintaining the inventory of sterile equipment
- Preparing sterile equipment on instrument trays for surgeons and other medical professionals
- Operating equipment to clean, disinfect and decontaminate surgical instruments, medical devices and equipment
- Inspecting instruments and equipment for signs of damage and wear and tear
- Unpacking, checking and stocking new equipment, instruments and devices
- Delivering equipment and supplies to all areas of the facility
What are the top 5-10 responsibilities for this position:
Ability to assemble surgical instruments, ability to work in decontam, able to operate steam/ sterrad sterilizer, ability to lift at least 20 lbs, ability read comprehend surgical set list
