Lab Corp is seeking a  
** Lab Assistant
** to join our team in Seattle, WA

*
* Work Schedule:

** Monday-Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

** Job Responsibilities*
* + Receive and sort clinical lab specimens

+ Clarify specimen sites and testing

+ Prepare specimens for testing and analysis

+ Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information

+ Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance

+ Troubleshoot any specimen related issues

+ Request clinical notes and history as requested by pathologists

+ Prepare and send out specimens for additional testing

+ Send and receive material for second opinions

+ Replenish test bench supplies as needed

+ Maintain a clean and safe work environment

+ Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested

+ Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards

+ Perform other duties as assigned.

** Minimum Qualifications*
* + High School Diploma or GED equivalent

** Preferred

Qualification:

*
* + Current or prior Lab Corp experience

+ 6 months or more of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory experience

** Additional Job Standards:*
* + Comfortability with handling biological specimens

+ Ability to accurately identify specimens

+ Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills

+ High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask

+ Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet established turn-around times

+ Strong communication skills; both written and verbal

+ Strong costumer service skills

+ Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time

+ Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

+ Flexibility to work overtime as needed

** Pay Range: $21.30 - $31.71 per hour

All job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience and the terms of the collective bargaining agreement between Dynacare Northwest, Inc. and United Food and Commercial Workers Union, Local 21.
