Job TitleGroup Life Counselor I, II, or III – Full-time Behavioral Health Department position at Renacer Youth Treatment Center, an inpatient facility for young adults suffering from substance abuse.
Position SummaryFull-time Group Life Counselor position available for our Behavioral Health Department in Seattle. The position will be hired into a level (I, II, or III) based on experience.
Responsibilities- Provide direct services to patients in a residential setting, including group care, intake procedures, evaluation, individual and group counseling, milieu management, evaluation and supervision of patients.
- A Group Life Counselor I is an entry level Human Service position; expected to have a "base to moderate" understanding of the direct services listed above.
- A Group Life Counselor II is a mid-level Human Service position; expected to have a "moderate to complete" understanding of the direct services listed above.
- A Group Life Counselor III will facilitate treatment educational groups with the individuals, provide services in individual or group sessions, and work closely with the CDP in treatment activities.
- Group Life Counselor I: B.A. degree in Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, or at least two years of experience working with high-risk youth.
- Group Life Counselor II: B.A. degree in Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, or related field, at least two years of experience working with high-risk youth, background check from DSHS and Washington State Patrol, Washington State driver’s license (if applicable), CPR certification every two years, and First-Aid every three years.
- Group Life Counselor III: B.A. degree in Psychology, Sociology, Human Services, Addictions or related field, associate’s degree in Chemical Dependency, at least two years’ experience with at-risk population, experience working with high-risk youth or adults preferred, CPR certification every two years, and First-Aid every three years.
