Medical Assistant In Pediatric Dermatology Clinic

This position includes a sign on bonus for eligible new hires joining Seattle Children's!

As a Medical Assistant in our Pediatric Dermatology Clinic, you'll play a vital role in helping children and teens feel comfortable, confident, and cared for while they are receiving specialized dermatology care. This dynamic position blends hands-on clinical support with compassionate patient interaction, creating a positive experience for patients and families from check-in to check-out and assisting with back-office tasks between visits.

The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and passionate about working with children. Success in this role requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, a team-focused mindset, and the ability to create a welcoming environment where young patients feel safe and supported in a fast-paced clinic. Working alongside dermatologists, advanced practice providers and nurses, you'll assist with examinations, minor procedures, treatment plans, and patient education for a variety of pediatric skin conditions. You'll help keep clinic flow running smoothly by rooming patients, obtaining histories and vital signs, preparing equipment and supplies, documenting in the electronic medical record, coordinating care, and supporting clinical procedures, including laser therapy. You will collaborate with the nursing team to ensure efficient completion of back-office tasks, such as prior authorizations and organizing the photography library.

The primary location is Seattle but staff may be required to work some days in Bellevue, Everett or Federal Way in the future.

Required Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent experience Required Credentials Current Medical Assistant – Certified designation by Washington Department of Health (DOH). Current Interim Certification through WA State can be substituted for up to 12 months from issue date. Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS).Preferred Graduation from an accredited medical assistant program Current National Medical Assistant Association Certification (eligible for premium) Current Medical Assistant experience in Pediatrics, Urgent Care experience and/or Medical screening and immunization.

Compensation Range

$26.51 - $39.76 per hour

Salary Information

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
