We are recruiting for the following position:
Mental Health Therapist II, III, or Licensed – posting #27461. Hourly rate $30–$36.41. Salary determined by experience and professional licensure.

Position Summary

Sea Mar Behavioral Health is seeking a full‑time therapist to join its Behavioral Health program in Seattle, WA. The role involves individual and group counseling, case management, crisis stabilization, suicide risk assessment, treatment planning, and coordination with medication providers, primary care physicians, and community agencies. Therapists must diagnose mental health issues accurately and develop treatment plans based on diagnoses. The position may require late hours (after 5 pm) and occasional community visits.

Levels and Responsibilities
  • Mental Health Therapist III
    :
    Provides diagnostic assessments, psychiatric referrals, case management, crisis stabilization, suicide risk assessment, treatment plans, leads groups, and assists in program, policy, and procedure development. Handles compliance with WACs and RCWs.
  • Mental Health Therapist II
    :
    Provides diagnostic assessments, psychiatric referrals, case management, crisis stabilization, suicide risk assessment, treatment plans, leads groups, and assists the Director with program, policy, and procedure development. Handles compliance with WACs and RCWs.
  • Licensed Mental Health Therapist
    :
    Provides diagnostic assessments, psychiatric referrals, case management, crisis stabilization, suicide risk assessment, treatment plans, leads groups, and provides care to chronically ill patients and high‑utilizers. Coordinates with CDMHPs, inpatient facilities, and ensures proper protocols for hospitalization and discharge. Provides clinical supervision to other clinicians and reviews clinical charts. Supports compliance with WACs, RCWs, and clinical contracts.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Master’s degree in psychology, counseling, or social work from an accredited institution, including coursework in psychological diagnostics.
  • Four or more years of clinical experience in the mental health field (up to three years for MHT II).
  • Active, approved license from Washington State Department of Health:
    Washington State Mental Health Counselor License, Marriage and Family Therapist License, or Independent Clinical Social Worker License.
  • Must meet criteria of a Mental Health Professional (MHP).
  • For licensed clinicians: must hold and maintain an active Washington State Agency‑Affiliated Counselor License or mental health associate license (includes Marriage and Family Therapist, Mental Health Counselor, and Clinical Social Worker).
  • Minority mental health therapist as required by WAC (for MHT III and MHT II).
  • Must maintain a current TB test and Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR qualification within 90 days of hire, and maintain BLS CPR throughout employment.
Additional Requirements
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification within 90 days of hire and ongoing maintenance.
  • Annual TB test and test at time of hire.
  • Ability to work some later hours (after 5 pm) and occasionally meet clients outside the office and in the community.
