Role Overview
The ultrasound technologist provides diagnostic imaging services by performing high-quality ultrasound procedures in accordance with physician orders. Responsibilities include preparing equipment and rooms, positioning patients, developing films, evaluating image quality, and ensuring patient safety and comfort. They assist radiologists, input patient data accurately, and deliver excellent customer service to patients, physicians, and staff. The role emphasizes maintaining confidentiality, adhering to safety protocols, and participating in quality assurance activities.
Qualifications & Skills- High School Diploma/GED and Basic Life Support certification required.
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer certification from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.
- Experience in a hospital setting preferred, with strong customer service, problem-solving, radiation safety, and infection control knowledge.
- Ability to educate patients, work well within a team, and adapt to shift rotations, including specialty areas and standby call.
