Labcorp is seeking a Pathology Assistant to join our team in  
** Seattle,WA*

** 550 17th Avenue, Seattle WA

** Schedule** :  Monday-Friday 7:30 AM-3:30PM

** Job Responsibilities*
* + Perform complete dissection, gross description, selection and submission of tissue for microscopic examination and special studies following departmental guidelines including routine biopsy specimens as well as complex surgical cases

+ Follow the laboratory's procedure for specimen handling and processing

+ Adhere to the laboratory's quality control policies and procedures

+ Assist other areas rotations within the department with specified assignments in a timely manner after the assigned job has been completed

+ Ensure a professional environment is maintained

+ Identify problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results

+ Assist with troubleshooting specimen-related issues, including identification, handling, processing, and workflow concerns, and work collaboratively to resolve problems

+ Maintain high ethical standards and integrity in performing the assigned duties

+ Perform shared laboratory operational responsibilities, including tissue disposal, hazardous waste management, processor reagent rotation and maintenance activities, and other duties necessary to maintain departmental workflow and compliance

+ Assist other area rotations within the department with specified assignments in a timely manner after assigned work has been completed

+ Maintain high ethical standards and integrity in performing assigned duties

+ Ensure a professional environment is maintained

+ Knowledge of hazardous waste management

+ Knowledge of personal protection measures and blood borne pathogens

+ Other related duties as assigned

** Minimum Qualifications*
* + Bachelor's degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology

+ 2yearsor moreof grossing experience small biopsies and complex surgical cases

+ Completion of a NAACLS accredited PA program

+ ASCP certification

** Additional Job Standards*
* + Experience in a high volume clinical laboratory environment

+ Knowledge of quality control and quality assurance processes

+ Proficient with computers;
Familiarity with laboratory information systems

+ Strong communication skills; both written and verbal

+ High level of attention detail along with strong organizational skills

+ Knowledge of hazardous waste management and personal protection measures

+ Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position 

+ Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

+ Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs

**** Pay Range: $35.00 - $72.00*
* All job offers will be based on a candidate's skills and prior relevant experience, applicable degrees/certifications, as well as internal equity and market data
