Position: Business Office Clerk (Full Time)

The clerical support clerk will help cover medical records, process adjustments, client billing, secondary billing, file, answer phones, cover for the deposits, fix GL errors, run reports, help track deficiencies, Cerner AR projects, Medical record projects, send out patient correspondences to include, but not limited to; charity care applications, charity care denials/acceptance letters, ad hoc statements, itemizations and other tasks as assigned.

Minimum

qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Clerical Experience preferred.
  • Comfortable with computer applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal.
  • Ability to be flexible and demonstrated ability to be adaptable.
  • Can operate a computer, copy machine, 10-key, phone, and fax efficiently.
  • Excellent organizational skills with demonstrated time management skills. Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
Primary job responsibilities
  • Back-up and Clerical Support for Medical Records. Helps to process record request, payer requests which may include retrieving data, scanning, pushing, mailing, burning or other tasks related to medical records.
  • Post GL corrections, post payments, adjustments and other transactions as needed.
  • Scans documents, archiving documents, filing.
  • Back up on deposits & client billing.
  • Secondary paper billing.
  • Uploading contracts & assist with Lucidoc,
  • Reviews forms to ensure current version is applicable.
  • Mail out charity care letters, patient correspondences, payment plan letters and other patient inquiries.
  • Secondary paper billing, pull explanation of benefits for billing and refund requests.
  • Updating encounter status-project & eligibility projects.
  • Other clerical duties as assigned.
