Patient Accounts Representative

• Using established protocols, monitor, research and update patient accounts to reconcile and maximize reimbursement.
• Answers patient, insurance calls and correspondence resolving questions in a time frame that meets or exceeds department standards.
• Acts as liaison between Patient Accounts and physician offices, insurance carriers and other third-party payers to assist with questions and resolve unpaid accounts.
• Follow guidelines to adjust accounts based upon the patient/account status (deceased patient, small balance, charity, etc.).

• 1 year of functional experience using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel)
• Associate's Degree in a business-related field (preferred)
• Upon hire: CRCR Certification (preferred)
• 1 year of experience in either physician/hospital billing or other healthcare business setting (preferred)
• 3 months of successful customer service experience with patients and insurers (preferred)
• 1 year of Collection experience (preferred)
• 1 year of experience using EPIC, pay span and insurance portals (preferred)

Demonstrates expertise in patient account reconciliation and reimbursement maximization, utilizing tools such as EPIC and insurance portals. Strong communication skills are essential for effectively liaising with patients, insurance carriers, and physician offices.
