DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an EP Lab Technologist with 2+ years of experience scrubbing devices and ablation procedures in a teaching hospital setting.
Details- Electrophysiology Lab within a Magnet-designated teaching hospital
- Patients undergoing coronary device implants (pacemakers, ICDs), diagnostic EP studies, and ablation procedures
- Procedures include pacemaker/ICD/SQ-ICD implants, loop recorders, Micra pacemakers, lead extractions with surgical support, VT/epicardial ablations, PVC, AFib, Aflutter, and other atrial ablations, transeptal approach
- Utilizes Biosense Webster CARTO and Abbott Precision mapping/ablation systems, plus cryoablation for select AFib cases
- Additional equipment includes Biotronik temp pacemaker box, Siemens X300 ICE machine, laser, Impella, IABP, PA lines (Swan-Ganz), Alaris IV pump, and Hemochron ACT machine
- Charting in EPIC
- 4x10 hour day shifts, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with a variable day off
- No on-call requirement, though techs may opt into a 'Late Stay' to complete an ongoing procedure without being placed on-call
- Floating within the hospital required; no floating to sister hospitals
- Minimum 2 years of experience with ability to scrub devices and ablation procedures
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- ARRT-R with WA state radiology license, or CCI RCIS with WA state Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist license (license required if applicable)
- CCI RCES certification also accepted
- EPIC charting experience required
- Proficient in procedural responsibilities including accurate monitoring, room circulator duties, and maintaining sterile field while scrubbing
- Experience with EP studies, arrhythmia induction, baseline measurements, cardiac ablation, cardioversion, conduction studies, EP evaluation, AICD insertion/programming, LAA closure, and pacemaker insertion
- Experience with cardiac cath lab procedures including IABP placement/removal and Impella insertion
- Experience with temporary pacing wires
- Responsibilities include performing coronary device implants, diagnostic EP studies, and a wide range of ablation procedures
- Scrubs provided for OR personnel, any color accepted
- First-time travelers accepted depending on experience level
- Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate with no mile radius restriction
- RTO limited to a maximum of 1 week, with no time off accommodated during the first 2 weeks of assignment or orientation week
- Prior UW Medical Center staff must have a minimum 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
- COVID vaccination and booster required with no exceptions
- Block scheduling not accommodated unless otherwise stated
