Cardiac Telemetry Shift: Part-Time | 24 hrs/week | Nights

Welcome to our fast-paced 35-bed Cardiac Telemetry Unit, where every day is an opportunity to make a difference! We care for patients with STEMI, post-cardiac catheterization, CHF, arrhythmias, stroke management, and more. With a supportive nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, our PCAs play a vital role in delivering compassionate, top-quality care. We believe in teamwork, clear communication, accountability, and mutual respect - all to provide exceptional care to every patient.

Work alongside skilled RNs and LPNs to help our patients achieve their highest level of wellness through personalized care.

• Take and document vital signs in electronic medical records
• Assist patients with meals, bathing, toileting, mobility, and transport
• Provide clerical support as needed

• Perform PCA duties plus:
• Phlebotomy & blood cultures
• Enteral feeding, wound care IV and Foley catheter removal
• Trach care and suctioning

• Our accredited Department of Labor Apprenticeship Program offers hands-on, comprehensive training.
• New hires complete a 175-hour training program as part of orientation (no prior experience needed!)
• BLS certification required within one month of hire.
• Complete PCA competencies within 3 months to stay on the team.

High school diploma or GED, CNA/CPTC, or enrollment in healthcare programs.

No prior experience required - we provide full training! Physical ability to lift/push 50 lbs, stand and walk for extended periods, and perform physical patient care tasks.

Our Mercy health system was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1986. But our heritage goes back more than 195 years. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who was determined to help women and children in Dublin experiencing poverty. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill that dream.

In 1827, she opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, intending to teach skills to women and educate children. Many volunteers came to help. A few years later, Catherine founded the Sisters of Mercy, one of the first religious orders whose Sisters were free to walk among the poor and visit them in their homes. In 1843, the Sisters of Mercy came to the United States.

In 1856, they traveled to St. Louis. In the years to come, they would establish hospitals throughout the Midwest. Many of these would join together in 1986 as Mercy.
