Job Description & How to Apply Below
Preg O’Donnell & Gillett is a litigation firm with offices across the Pacific Northwest. We’re known not only for the quality of our legal work, but for the way we work together—collaboratively, respectfully, and with a shared commitment to succeeding together.
We are looking for a high-energy, intellectually curious HR professional who wants to play a meaningful role in shaping the employee experience at a law firm. This is not a traditional HR role—this is a hands‑on, highly visible position for someone who likes variety, ownership, and being in the middle of how a firm runs.
This role touches multiple areas of the firm and blends HR, recruiting, operations, and culture‑building.
Human Resources- Serve as a go‑to resource for employees on HR-related questions and support.
- Help develop and implement HR policies, processes, and best practices.
- Support employee relations, feedback conversations, and performance processes.
- Own and manage the annual staff review process in collaboration with firm leadership, from planning and communication through completion and follow‑up.
- Maintain employee records and ensure compliance with applicable laws and firm policies.
- Assist with benefits administration and HR reporting.
- Manage the full recruiting lifecycle, including job postings, screening, interview coordination, and offers.
- Create a thoughtful, organized, and engaging onboarding experience for new hires.
- Partner with leadership on hiring strategy.
- Plan and coordinate firm events, celebrations, and team gatherings.
- Support initiatives that strengthen engagement and connection across offices.
- Bring creativity and energy to how we celebrate wins and milestones.
- Assist with recruiting-related marketing, including job postings, employer branding, and Linked In presence.
- Help keep the firm website current, particularly attorney profiles, firm news updates, and careers content.
- Support internal and external communications tied to hiring and firm initiatives.
- Help ensure our offices are functional, organized, and welcoming.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams on space, supplies, and general office needs.
- 2–4 years of experience in HR, recruiting, or a related role; professional services or law firm experience is a plus.
- Natural curiosity, a proactive approach, and comfort figuring things out.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships across all levels.
- A high level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information.
- A “roll up your sleeves” mindset—you’re just as comfortable planning an event as you are updating a policy.
- Competitive compensation of $70,000–$90,000 and benefits.
- Opportunity to grow into a leadership‑oriented HR role.
- Direct access to firm leadership and decision‑making.
- A collaborative, team‑first environment that values initiative and follow‑through.
- The chance to meaningfully shape the employee experience at a respected regional firm.
