The Human Resources Intern reports to the Talent Acquisition Manager and works closely with other members of the HR department. The intern assists with administrative and HR-related tasks, including talent acquisition responsibilities such as resume screening, interview coordination, Form I-9 compliance, onboarding/pre‑hire requirements, and experience with the Applicant Tracking System. This position offers an opportunity to learn about different areas of HR, including compliance, compensation, benefits, recruiting, and employee relations.
InternshipResponsibilities
- Assist with resume screening for open positions, ensuring candidates meet the basic qualifications outlined in the job descriptions.
- Coordinate interviews, including scheduling with candidates and interviewers, booking interview rooms, and ensuring a positive interview experience for all involved parties.
- Support the Form I-9 process, ensuring completion and compliance with legal requirements.
- Assist with onboarding and pre‑hire requirements, including preparing new hire paperwork, coordinating with various departments for training schedules, and ensuring a smooth transition for new employees.
- Utilize the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to track candidate progress, update candidate statuses, and generate reports as needed.
- Audit and migrate employment personnel files from different systems into the company’s HRIS (Paycom). Documents include employment agreements, offer letters, non‑compete agreements, etc.
- Update Job Description s into Oasis’ standardized format.
- Perform HRIS troubleshooting and LMS auditing.
- Gain familiarity with employment relations procedures.
- Assist with New Hire Onboarding Documents.
- Develop reports and assist with special projects, as assigned.
- Must be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate college or university, ideally working toward a degree in Business or Human Resources.
- Must be able to commit to a full semester, at least 20 hours per week (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter).
- Must be 18 years of age or older, and legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Experience with, or ability to learn, HR software.
- Detail‑oriented administrative abilities and accurate data entry experience.
- Ability to develop informational reporting based on raw data requests.
- Proficiency in Windows, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Desktop Publishing.
- Discreet, trustworthy with strong business integrity and ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- Able to meet time‑sensitive time frames when necessary.
- Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
- Professional and customer‑service‑oriented demeanor, comfortable working with all levels of employees.
- Motivated self‑starter who can work independently and in a team environment.
- Excellent business phone and customer‑service etiquette.
- Excellent editing, spelling, grammar, and punctuation skills.
- Ability to research relevant data upon request.
