Overview
- The Labor & Employment practice is expanding and represents employers in labor-related matters.
- The Associate will represent employers in state and federal courts and administrative agencies, including the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB), Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries, Washington State Department of Labor & Industries, Washington Public Employment Relations Commission, Oregon Employment Relations Board, and U.S. Department of Labor, as well as before labor arbitrators.
- Responsibilities include handling disputes and counseling related to the administration and negotiation of collective bargaining agreements.
- Required experience includes representing and counseling clients on collective bargaining, labor arbitration, Union organizing campaigns, picketing, strikes, labor injunctions, and other labor issues, specifically handling NLRB Representation proceedings and Unfair Labor Practice investigations and litigation.
- Depending on experience and firm needs, the role may also involve counseling clients on employment law compliance, drafting employment agreements, and assisting in employment litigation.
- Desirable additional qualifications include experience or knowledge of occupational safety and health, prevailing wage law, and multiemployer benefit plans.
- Active bar admission in Washington or Oregon is required, with an ideal candidate being admitted or able to waive into both jurisdictions.
