Opportunity Description

Seattle Colleges District is looking to hire multiple HR/Payroll Records Interns (Work Study).

Hourly rate for this position is $21.30 per hour.

Opportunity is open until filled, first review of materials will begin August 20th, 2026.

Position Summary

Under the direction and supervision of the Payroll Manger & HR Executive Assistant.

District HR/Payroll serves all three colleges and district offices, supporting over 3,000 full, part-time and student employees. The State of Washington mandates that our records are retained for 50+ years. Under the instruction of HR/Payroll staff you will assist with the organization and archiving of records.

This position is part-time temporary, working under 19 hours per week, Monday through Friday, primarily between 9am-5pm.

This position works 100% of the time on-site.

This opportunity is open to current students at Seattle Colleges. Students interested in HR/Payroll duties are strongly encouraged to apply.

What You Will Be Working On
  • Assist with converting HR/Payroll historical records into scanned documents digital formats such as .tiff or .png or other approved file types for long term retention
  • Review and clean up converted documents to ensure accurate layout, and readability
  • Apply proper document naming structure to meet digital storage standards
  • Maintain organized file naming and version control for materials in progress and completed files
  • Secure scanned documents established in storage area for final destruction

What you bring as a candidate:
  • Experience using Adobe Reader, MS File Explorer and related tools for structured document storage
  • Attention to detail when reviewing converted documents for both accuracy and compliance
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple documents and deadlines
  • Effective written communication skills for clarifying questions and providing status updates
