Gordon Truck Centers, Inc. (GTC) is hiring a full-time Human Resources Coordinator at the Pacific, WA Corporate Location
The Human Resources & Safety Coordinator provides administrative and operational support for the Human Resources and Safety functions. The HR Coordinator will support a culture that emphasizes quality, productivity and the ongoing development and recruitment of a superior workforce. This role assists with employee lifecycle activities, benefits administration, recruiting, onboarding, policy administration, workers' compensation, and safety compliance. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities while maintaining confidentiality and delivering exceptional customer service to employees and managers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coordinate new hire onboarding, orientation, and employee paperwork.
- Maintain employee personnel files and HR records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality while fully utilizing the software to GTC's advantage.
- Assist with recruiting activities including posting positions, screening applicants, scheduling interviews, and extending job offers.
- Assist with leave administration, including FMLA, state leave programs, and ADA accommodation tracking.
- Prepare employment verification requests, personnel changes, and other HR documentation.
- Track employee training, certifications, and required compliance programs.
- Assist with performance review administration and employee recognition initiatives.
- Support policy communication and employee engagement activities.
- Respond to routine employee questions regarding policies, benefits, and HR procedures.
- Assist with payroll-related documentation and coordination with Payroll as needed.
- Generate HR reports and maintain accurate employment records.
- Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Human Resources and Director of Safety.
General Responsibilities
- Maintain strict confidentiality of employee information.
- Build positive working relationships with employees and management.
- Recommend improvements to HR and safety processes.
- Stay current on employment laws and workplace safety regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Job Requirements, Education and Experience
Education
:
Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Occupational Safety, or related field, or certification preferred, but not required. General knowledge of employment laws and practices required. Specialized training in employment law, employee relations, training, or project management preferred but not required. High School Diploma preferred.
Experience
:
Six plus month’s experience in dealership or transportation level field preferred, but not required. 1-3 years of experience in Human Resoures, Safety, or a related administrative role. Experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, or safety programs preferred. Experience with HRIS systems.
Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. Candidates must have excellent research, writing, interpersonal, and communication skills and demonstrate that they can uphold confidentiality. Candidates must also be able to demonstrate the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, handle demanding time constraints and provide timely input with great attention to detail.
