Research Scientist in ML Systems Technology - Machine learning Seattle Regular

Leveraging substantial data and computing resources and through continued investment in these domains, we have developed a proprietary general-purpose model with multimodal capabilities. In the Chinese market, Doubao models power over 50 Byte Dance apps and business lines, including Doubao, Coze, and Dreamina, and is available to external enterprise clients via Volcano Engine. Today, the Doubao app stands as the most widely used AIGC application in China.

• Responsible for the research and development of our machine learning system, including heterogeneous computing architecture, management, monitoring, and deployment of the machine learning system.
• Work on projects related to distributed task scheduling, machine learning training, machine learning inference, scenario-driven, cross-layer optimization of system and AI algorithms, hardware for machine learning (GPU, FPGA, ASIC).

• Master or above degree in distributed, parallel computing principles and know the recent advances in computing, storage, networking, and hardware technologies;
• Familiar with machine learning algorithms and platforms;
• Basic understanding of how GPU, FPGA, ASIC works;
• Expert in at least one or two programming languages in Linux environment: C/C++, Go, Python.

• Experienced in GPU based high performance computing, RDMA high-performance network;
• Familiar with Tensorflow, Caffe, MxNet, PyTorch, or other deep learning frameworks;
• Experiences in designing and operating large-scale systems in cloud computing or machine learning.

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $177688 - $341734 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
