Overview

Amazon is seeking a creative, curious, and highly proactive PR Specialist to drive momentum for Alexa+ AI Capabilities. This role is focused on showcasing what Alexa+ can do—both new and existing capabilities—through creative communications and PR campaigns. We’re looking for someone who loves to ideate, plan, and execute compelling storytelling that brings Alexa+ features to life.

In this role, you will own a comms roadmap to drive ongoing momentum for Alexa+ features, developing and executing creative campaigns that keep Alexa+ top-of-mind with media, influencers, and customers. You’ll promote new and existing Alexa+ capabilities to reporters, through social channels, and via influencer partnerships, finding fresh angles and creative approaches to demonstrate the value and innovation of Alexa+.

You will develop and execute proactive momentum activity campaigns that go beyond launch moments, creating sustained interest and engagement around Alexa+ capabilities throughout the year. Through strategic media relations and proactive pitching, you’ll build relationships with technology, AI, and consumer tech media contacts, securing coverage that illustrates the breadth and depth of what Alexa+ can do.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll collaborate with cross-functional partners including product, engineering, marketing, and content teams to identify compelling stories, develop creative campaign concepts, and execute tactical PR programs. You’ll bring creativity, curiosity, and an abundance of bias for action to everything you do.

Key job responsibilities
  • Own a comms roadmap to drive momentum for Alexa+ features and develop/execute creative campaigns that keep Alexa+ top-of-mind with media, influencers, and customers.
  • Promote new and existing Alexa+ capabilities to reporters, through social channels, and via influencer partnerships; identify fresh angles to demonstrate value and innovation.
  • Develop and execute momentum activity campaigns that extend beyond launch moments, maintaining ongoing interest and engagement throughout the year.
  • Build strategic media relationships with technology, AI, and consumer tech reporters to secure coverage demonstrating the breadth and depth of Alexa+ capabilities.
  • Collaborate with product, engineering, marketing, and content teams to identify compelling stories and execute tactical PR programs.
Basic Qualifications
  • 5+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Proven Track Record: history of securing high-profile media coverage in top-tier technology and consumer publications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to translate technical AI concepts into engaging stories
  • Demonstrated creativity in developing and executing PR campaigns and momentum activities
  • Extreme proactivity and bias for action; a self-starter who ideates and executes creative work
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with consumer technology communications, particularly in AI, voice technology, or software features
  • Track record of developing proactive PR campaigns and creative storytelling programs
  • Experience working with product and engineering teams to identify and develop compelling narratives
  • Established relationships with technology reporters and influencers
  • Understanding of AI technology, hardware design processes, or emerging technology trends
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with social media strategy and influencer engagement
  • Curiosity and willingness to deeply understand product capabilities to find creative storytelling angles
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments with shifting priorities
  • Focus on driving measurable results and media impact
  • Hands-on approach with willingness to execute tactical work alongside strategic thinking
